Hey! Hi there, if you’re here to learn this classic rumba strum and a cool chord progression that I called soft rumba to go with it, you’re in the right place.
Hi again, I’m Tomas Michaud founder of Real Guitar School so today we’re gonna learn the chord progression soft rumba. I’ve had some request for that since I showed how to improvise the soft rumba and also I’ll go ahead and teach you the strum. Let’s do the chord progression first, not too hard but you gotta know bar chords.
First an A minor bar chord so I’m doing that with just a bar across the fifth fret and then two fingers on the fifth and fourth strings. I’m using the third finger on the seventh fret and the pinky on the seventh fret on the fourth or D string okay then the D minor 7, I keep my bar there and move over. By the way, if you don’t know bar chords you wanna go and check out one of my videos on how to do bar chords first. It’s not something you’re gonna just muscle through. You wanna learn some technique but if you’ve practicing bar chord, these are not hard ones.
D minor 7, it’s the same bar. I actually have the base note on the low A string that 5th string and my third finger is on the fourth string seventh fret. This third string is covered by the bar and then the second finger is covering the sixth fret on the second string okay and then E minor 7. I love this form with the E minor 7 so it’s not a bar.
